Different Kinds of Guitar Effects Pedals
A lot of musical band fans out there try to imitate their favorite bands. Their great frustration is being able to play their favorite band’s songs but they fail when it comes to sounding like them. Having a guitar effects pedal is the best way to produce sounds that can copy your favorite band sounds. The individual effect pedal can produce a single sound out of a thousand different sounds. Choosing the right individual effect pedal involves knowing the kind of sound that you want.
If it important that you hear the individual sounds to be able to choose the right individual effect pedal so you need to visit your music store and try out different effect pedals. If you love punk, meta, blues overdrive, grunge, etc. then you can try the distortion pedals which produce sounds for these music genres. Activate the sound effect only needs a step on the pedal once while you are playing your guitar. You turn on the sound by steeping once, and you need to step on the pedal again to turn it off. You can only find the sound that you like by trying the different pedals. Activation of the pedal is done by stepping on it once and the same is true for turning it off. The digital delay effect is another pedal that produces a low repetition of the last note played. Another type of effect is the chorus effect which adds smoothness to your sound. They also follow the same operation for activation and stopping.
There are other pedals that don’t follow the operation given. One example is the wah pedal which is activated by a single step on the pedal but the pedal has to be rocked back and forth to produce the wah effect. There are also volume pedals that you rock pack and forth to increase or decrease the volume gradually. The whammy pedal is also rocked back and forth and it simulates the use of a whammy bar for electric guitars. This is for those whose guitars don’t come equipped with them or who don’t want to use them.
You can also find multi-effects pedals in stores. This is a single pedal that provides many different effects. These are more expensive than individual pedals that perform only one function but they can be a more economical choice since you only pay one price for several effects. Distortion pedal, single tap action, rocking pedal for wah, volume, and whammy effects can be found in a single multi-effect pedal. Many say that the quality of multi-effect pedals is inferior to the individual pedals.
